About The Position
Avita Health System is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Obstetrics Department at the Avita Galion Hospital. The RN will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient nursing care within the unit. This includes ensuring continuity of care between shifts by providing direct patient care and supervising nursing assistants, LPNs, and other support staff. The role also involves patient and family education and acting as a patient advocate in alignment with the organization's mission.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
- Current BLS certification.
- Successful completion of Neonatal Resuscitation certification.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of previous experience working on an obstetrics unit.
Responsibilities
- Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care of patients within the nursing unit.
- Ensures continuity of care of the patients between shifts by providing direct care as well as supervising the care given by nursing assistants, LPNs and supportive staff members.
- Participates in patient and family teaching.
- Maintains role as patient advocate with a focus on the organization’s mission.
