About The Position
The RN - OB provides nursing care in the Maternity Center at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio. The unit provides family-centered maternity care, supporting patients from prenatal education through discharge. The RN works across areas including Labor & Delivery, cesarean-section procedures, triage, postpartum care, and the nursery, with the goal of keeping patients and babies safe. This position is part-time, works nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, and includes on-call, weekend, and holiday requirements.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- One year of current acute care RN experience or military RN experience.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- OB and/or Labor & Delivery experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
