Full-Time OB/GYN Ambulatory Staff Nurse - Waltham -Utilizes the nursing process, evidence-based science, and collaboration with other healthcare disciplines to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients and families -Provides competent, compassionate nursing care based on scientific principles and the use of nursing process and a primary nursing model. -Identifies, facilitates, and evaluates outcomes of nursing care for an individual patient or groups of patients. -Coordinates involvement of the patient, family, and health team members in patient care, including patient/family teaching. -Participates in orientation of new permanent and temporary staff members. -Participates in daily operational activities necessary for safe patient/staff environment. -Participates in and contributes to performance improvement activities for the unit. Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients. Requirements

  • MA RN license required
  • BSN required
  • Required to work with a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, communicate effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinking skills required
  • Required to work with patients and families while developing respectful, trusting, and ongoing relationships
  • AHA BLS required
  • Electronic fetal monitoring experience required
  • Associate's Degree Nursing required
  • Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year required
  • Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
  • Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a women’s health related field and/or in an ambulatory setting preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process, evidence-based science, and collaboration with other healthcare disciplines to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients and families

  • Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
  • Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
  • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
