Registered Nurse (RN) Nursing Supervisor – Elderwood at Hornell Full-time 6p-630a or Part-time 6a-630p At Elderwood at Hornell, our Mission is People Caring for People. Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience and at least one (1) year of experience in a nursing leadership role
- Current BLS/CPR
- This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred, but not required
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- A compassionate, respectful approach to resident care
- Interest or experience in geriatrics
- Experience with dementia population desirable
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on nursing care and lead a dedicated CNA team
- Monitor residents’ conditions and support individualized care plans
- Safely manage and administer medications
- Ensure resident dignity, preferences, and quality of life remain top priorities
- Collaborate with leadership and fellow healthcare professionals to deliver excellence in care
- Supervise nursing care services and nursing personnel across assigned units
- Conduct rounds and provide clinical support and guidance to staff
- Monitor resident conditions and ensure timely communication of changes
- Assist with admissions, evaluations, care planning, and resident oversight
- Support safe medication administration and treatment delivery
- Assist with staffing coordination and assignment adjustments
- Provide coaching, feedback, and support to nursing staff
- Ensure documentation, workflows, and assignments are completed appropriately
- Participate in shift-to-shift communication and operational updates
- Promote a collaborative, respectful, team-focused environment
- Help maintain compliance with facility policies, CMS standards, and nursing regulations
- Support infection prevention and facility safety initiatives
- Assist with incident response, emergency procedures, and survey readiness
- Participate in QAPI and performance improvement efforts
