About The Position

This part-time position assists students in the nursing lab with practicing skills, evaluates their competency, and supports nursing staff and faculty with lab-related tasks. The role involves guiding student practice, assessing skill performance, communicating with faculty, maintaining lab organization and equipment, and assisting with demonstrations and simulations. The position also supports strategic planning and performs other assigned duties.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing
3 years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care
Current, active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Arizona, or current, active, unencumbered compact/multistate RN license with privilege to practice as a Registered Nurse in Arizona
Registered Nurse license must remain in good standing with the Arizona State Board of Nursing throughout employment
Arizona Driver’s License or Equivalent

Nice To Haves

Master of Science in Nursing
Experience evaluating nursing students in skills lab or clinical setting

Responsibilities

Guides and supervises the practice of students in the nursing laboratory setting, utilizing the course material provided by nursing faculty and/or the nursing lab coordinator.
Assesses the ability of students to perform assigned skills.
Communicates with faculty to meet student needs, providing feedback regarding the progress or status of individual students.
Maintains safety and organization of the nursing laboratory, including the proper functioning of equipment, accurate inventory of medical supplies, and reordering through the nursing laboratory coordinator as needed.
Assists nursing faculty and staff with set up for student skill demonstrations or classroom/lab/simulation.
Supports and participates in strategic planning initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
