About The Position

Newton Village, a Cassia community, is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. As the RN Nurse Manager at Newton Village, you will provide hands-on leadership for a combined Transitional Care Unit (TCU) and Long-Term Care (LTC) unit, supporting nursing staff while ensuring exceptional resident care. You’ll collaborate closely with the Director of Nursing, assist with admissions, oversee wound care, and help maintain regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is a compassionate RN who is interested in growing their skills while making a meaningful impact in the lives of older adults.

Requirements

  • Current Iowa RN license and be in good standing.
  • CPR certification or willing to obtain.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • LTC or TCU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, oversee, and provide resident-related care.
  • Practice restorative nursing to provide the best care to our residents.
  • Manage and assign tasks to nursing staff on the assigned unit, which includes both Transitional Care (TCU) and Long-Term Care (LTC).
  • Work with the DON to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Notify Clinical Manager, attending physicians, and family members of significant changes in a resident's condition, and take follow up action as necessary.
  • Oversee wound care management, including treatment and documentation.
  • Monitor in-house transfers, transfers to other facilities, and discharge planning.
  • Document and maintain paperwork, referral records, and reports.
  • Display a courteous attitude and respect for all residents, families, and staff.
  • Support the nursing floor and provide direct patient care when needed.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support clinical operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
