About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to patients in all settings by utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with other health care providers. The RN is accountable for their professional development and for practicing within the scope of care defined by law. Using organizational resources, the RN advocates for patients and supports safe care through delegation and participation in performance and practice improvement activities. Nursing care at Kettering Health Network reflects the missions, vision, values, and philosophies of the organization and its nursing departments.

Requirements

• Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse.
• For new graduate nurses, graduate from an accredited school of nursing (NLN, ACEN, or CCNE).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; must be completed within five years of hire.
• A nurse returning to acute care after five or more years may be required to provide evidence of successful completion of a refresher course.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS as determined by unit scope of practice.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• One year of clinical nursing experience in an acute care or relevant specialty setting.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or specialty certification applicable to the clinical area.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process and collaborating with other health care providers.
• Maintain accountability for professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law.
• Act as a patient advocate for safe care, including delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement activities.
• Deliver nursing care consistent with the missions, vision, values, and philosophies of Kettering Health Network and its nursing departments.
