Schedule: Part-Time Nights | 60 hours per pay period About Us – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Freeman Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the only one of its kind in the four-state area, provides specialized care using state-of-the-art technology and years of experience treating premature and critically ill infants Level III, 24-bed unit equipped to handle critically ill or premature babies Board-certified neonatologists specializing in care of premature and critically ill babies Pod nursing for efficiency, patient supervision, and infection control In honor of the 20th anniversary of Freeman NICU, Children s Miracle Network Hospitals, in conjunction with Walmart and Sam s Club, donated Angel Eye NICU Camera System, a secure web-based camera system that allows parents to remotely see their child via a live feed. A camera mounted to the baby s bed provides parents 24-hour access to their child, helping ease the pain of separation if parents must return to work or leave the hospital

Requirements

• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 30 days.
• Current Missouri Registered Nurse license or current Registered Nurse license from a compact state. If a compact license is held, it must be in the nurse’s state of residence.
• Maternal/Child Competency Day annually by transcript due date.
• Must successfully pass Patient Care Orientation.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider within 90 days.
• S.T.A.B.L.E. Learner within 365 days.
• Satisfactory completion of Freeman Health System "NICU RN Competency" checklist

Responsibilities

• In conjunction with the medical plan of care, independently performs systematic and continuous assessment of the physical, emotional, clinical and psychosocial needs of assigned patients and families; plans and implements appropriate interventions; and evaluates effectiveness and adjusts plan as indicated in a timely manner in the provision of safe and effective care.
