About The Position

EvergreenHealth is seeking an experienced acute care Registered Nurse to join the Children’s Services team! This new to specialty nurse will train to NICU. This is a training RN position for experienced nurses with at least one year of acute care nursing experience who are interested in learning a new specialty. We provide about 8-12 weeks of training depending on the skill set and progress. Requirements

  • Graduate of a nursing program (Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and/or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree)
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington OR holding a multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS – American Heart Association by start date
  • 1 year of inpatient RN experience
  • NRP certification within 4 weeks of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
  • Assesses the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
  • Coordinates the patient and family/significant other education process.
  • Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, incorporating patient and family/significant other into the process.
  • Participates with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family/significant other plan of care.
  • Effectively communicates all relevant information (e.g., patient information, safety issues, problems with equipment, quality issues, etc.) to immediate supervisor, in timely way.
  • Communicates and documents changes in patient condition, on a timely basis, to charge nurse/supervisor and physician.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
