About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) working in a Level IV NICU at American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI. The role involves providing care for critically ill newborns, infants, and their families throughout their continuum of care, from admission to discharge. The NICU is a 26-bed unit focused on patient- and family-centered care, treating infants with a wide range of medical and surgical complexities requiring advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services. This is a 90% FTE position with 8/12 hour evening/night shifts, including every other weekend and a holiday rotation. Hours may vary based on operational needs. Multiple positions are available as part of a NICU expansion.

Requirements

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire Required
• Current CPR/BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
• NRP within 6 months Required
• Six (6) months nursing experience in Inpatient Units and Central Float (Adult & Pediatric), Venous Access Team (VAT), Radiology, Hemodialysis, Cardiovascular Laboratory or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit. Required
