Requirements

• Valid NC RN License or Compact State RN License required.
• Experience required.
• BCLS and PALS required.
• Employees who begin employment with FirstHealth of the Carolinas in a position that requires a registered nurse must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree within five (5) years of their employment date.

Responsibilities

• Providing highly specialized and compassionate care to critically ill newborns.
• Providing emotional support to parents, helping them navigate the challenges of having a newborn in the intensive care setting.
• Working closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists and other nurses within the NICU setting.
• Evaluating the family's response to care and teaching and revising the plan of care as needed.
• Evaluating patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members.
