About The Position

The Critical Care New Graduate RN Residency Program – Emergency Department at Geneva General Hospital is designed to help newly licensed Registered Nurses transition from nursing school into professional practice. Residents work alongside experienced Emergency Department nurses and providers while developing the clinical skills needed to care for patients with a wide variety of medical, surgical, and emergent conditions. The program provides comprehensive orientation, structured clinical training, mentorship, and hands-on experience caring for patients across the lifespan. Residents develop emergency assessment, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills; gain exposure to medical and traumatic emergencies; and train in emergency interventions, patient stabilization, and clinical decision-making. Ongoing support is provided throughout the transition to independent practice in a collaborative environment focused on learning, teamwork, and patient safety. The program starts in August 2027 at Geneva General Hospital in Geneva, New York. Eligible new graduates may qualify for the RN New Graduate Incentive Program, subject to program eligibility and applicable employment commitments.
