About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join their team at Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. This is a full-time position on a 38-bed telemetry-monitored nursing unit specializing in Neuro PCU care. The unit works within a team nursing model and cares for patients with conditions such as Hemicraniectomy, Aneurysm Clip and Coils, Glioblastomas, Carotid Endarterectomy, TIA, Stroke (Hemorrhagic and Ischemic), Neurosurgery, Seizures, and Brain Mass. The unit also includes a 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and is part of an award-winning Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Requirements

• Graduate of RN School of Nursing
• ADN required
• Must be licensed to practice professional nursing by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
• Functions competently and effectively under pressure and emergency situations
• Grad of an Accredited Program
• Specialized field of study should be nursing.
• RN license.
• Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• 12-18 Months of RN experience, Acute Care or Hospital setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients on a 38-bed telemetry monitored nursing unit specializing in Neuro PCU.
• Work within a team nursing model.
• Care for patients with a wide variety of neurological conditions including Hemicraniectomy, Aneurysm Clip and Coils, Glioblastomas, Carotid Endarterectomy, TIA, Stroke (Hemorrhagic and Ischemic), Neurosurgery, Seizures, and Brain Mass.
• Provide care within the 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
• Collaborate with inter-professional teams to provide safe passage and quality outcomes for patients.
