RN - Neuro/Bariatric Step Down
About The Position
Rust Medical Center is hiring an RN for their Neuro and Bariatric unit. We welcome applications from both new graduates and experienced RNs! New graduates have the opportunity to participate in our mandatory residency program, which includes monthly seminars led by the Nurse Residency Team, peer-to-peer debriefing sessions, support groups/mentoring, and rounding. The Nurse Residency Program is an added benefit designed to support your transition into practice. How you grow, learn and thrive matters here. This is a full-time opportunity with a 0.90 FTE. The work shift is 12 Hour Nights.
Requirements
- Minimum Associate Degree: Degree from accredited academic nursing program preferred
- Registered Nurse-NM License
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
- BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire.

Responsibilities
- Treats a wide variety of patients including those with Stroke, CHF, GI, Renal, Neurologic conditions, patients in respiratory distress, Neuro, and post bariatric surgery patients.
- Works with interdisciplinary teams such as social workers, PT/OT, Case Managers, and outpatient services.
- Fosters a warm welcoming culture that understands the importance of work life balance.
- Supports one another in a family-oriented unit.
- Builds critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment.
