The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus are designed to treat high acuity patients who need critical care and suffer from various medical problems. The G60/61 units include 25 patient beds. Some of the most common procedures performed by our nursing staff include bronchoscopy, endoscopy, emergent intubations, and central line placements. Our dedicated and highly trained nursing caregivers follow an intricate nursing care model that is rooted in evidence-based practice and always puts patients first. As an RN, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• External applicants: two years of recent experience in an acute care setting
• Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period, could be considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval
• Will consider military RN experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
