The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, directs, implements, and assists to provide quality patient care for assigned patients. This role involves modifying nursing care, administering medications, and developing discharge plans. The nurse will provide education tailored to individual patient needs, monitor patient conditions, record and report symptoms, assess vital signs, and intervene when necessary. Responsibilities include performing complete data collection, collaborating with patients on treatment plans, and encouraging family participation. Accurate documentation in medical records, adherence to policies and procedures, and collaboration with the patient care team are essential. The role also requires anticipating and responding to changes in patient condition or equipment malfunctions, and modifying treatment plans accordingly. Additionally, the nurse will conduct and coordinate patient care and transfers in accordance with EMTALA regulations, and perform other department-specific functions as outlined in procedures.
