This role is more than a job; it's an opportunity to participate in patient care under the supervision of a manager/director and in collaboration with other healthcare team members. The position involves measuring and recording vital signs, identifying abnormal values, and reporting findings to medical providers. Responsibilities include assisting with clinic flow, patient examinations, procedures, scheduling appointments, and ensuring a smooth patient exit. The role also requires preparing patients for examinations and treatments, observing for signs of abuse/neglect, and responding to emergencies. Performing non-complex procedures, providing patient comfort, preparing and cleaning equipment, administering medications and vaccinations, and collecting specimens are key duties. Maintaining medication inventory, proper disposal of expired medications, and monitoring storage conditions are also essential. Documentation in the patient medical record, completing paperwork, maintaining patient confidentiality, and navigating the Electronic Medical Record are critical. The role involves assisting colleagues, communicating with the clinic manager, and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, infection control, and quality improvement standards. Maintaining a clean working environment, implementing precautions, performing hand hygiene, reporting safety hazards, and participating in quality improvement processes are also part of the role. The position requires gathering clinical documentation, operating office equipment, obtaining outside medical records, and answering and routing telephone calls.
