About The Position

Our Maternal-Fetal Medicine Centers provide innovative, comprehensive and interdisciplinary care for women! As the only Maternal-Fetal specialists in the region associated with an academic medical center, our specialists bring their own expertise as well as collaboration with neonatologists, geneticists and other University of Minnesota Health specialists to deliver the highest level of care for women and their babies — from preconception to post-partum. We care for women who are of advanced maternal age, pregnant with a child who has indications of an abnormality such as spina bifida or Down Syndrome or pregnant with multiples. We also care for women who have a history of preterm delivery or labor, a compromised cervix, gestational diabetes, history of preeclampsia, pre-existing medical conditions, such as cardiac disease or cystic fibrosis, prior fetal or neonatal death or recurrent pregnancy losses. This position will be working on a casual/as needed basis on the day shift, 8 hour shifts, no weekends.

Requirements

MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
Minimum 2 years Labor & Delivery RN experience or years of Maternal Fetal Medicine experience.
Current MFM experience
MFM RN is able to define the characteristics of FHR and uterine activity obtained via auscultation. palpation, and EFM methods and interpret electronic FHR and uterine patterns.
Successful completion of a fetal monitoring course that provides overview of intrapartum fetal monitoring, including the maternal-fetal oxygenation pathway, assessing uterine activity and recognizing, interpreting, and managing FHR patterns.
AWHONN Fetal Monitoring, or equivalent, certification
