About The Position

The RN Clinical Manager is accountable for 24/7 oversight of the department’s day-to-day operations through implementation of strategy, policy, direction, and action planning. The manager analyzes, develops, and implements methods and systems to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of services. The role promotes patient-centered, specialized, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy, and contributes to department and nursing goals. The manager is accountable for compassionate, safe care within the scope of practice defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and ThedaCare policy, and for patient outcomes that meet high-quality standards.

The position is eligible for a sign-on bonus with a two-year commitment. The facility is a senior housing and skilled nursing facility with 58 licensed beds, updated with a modern look, with separate patient rooms and bathrooms and onsite nursing staff described as available 27/7. ThedaCare is selective about the patients accepted at the facility. The role is scheduled for 40 hours per week, 1.0 FTE, on days, and is overtime exempt.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.
• Five years of progressive responsibility in a healthcare setting.
• Three years of leadership experience, including leading teams and/or projects.
• Current Wisconsin RN license.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Ability to move freely, including standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling, and lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Auditory and visual ability to assess and provide nursing care.
• Compliance with department-specific competencies.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage team members in accordance with ThedaCare policies and values, and ensure recruitment and retention of competent team members.
• Oversee daily activities and work processes to achieve quality outcomes.
• Oversee the accuracy of time, attendance, and payroll practices.
• Help team members understand how their day-to-day work contributes to ThedaCare strategy.
• Develop collaborative relationships with care team members and departments.
• Communicate effectively and escalate clinical and operational issues appropriately to the director.
• Support shared decision-making and shared governance, coordinating team participation in decisions about patient care delivery, the work and practice environment, and operational activities affecting workflow.
• Ensure team members are trained and informed about procedures, policies, and processes that support reliability, safety, and quality outcomes.
• Support research and innovation, and use research findings and evidence-based practice to establish standards, practices, and patient care models that are outcome-driven and patient-centered.
• Lead by example, support operations and accountability, and mentor team members and provide opportunities for professional growth.
• Manage daily staffing to meet productivity standards and patient needs.
• Work with the director on budget action plans and variances, contribute to annual budget preparation and implementation, and collaborate on decisions with long-term cost implications.
• Coordinate activities and ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory standards, including The Joint Commission, CMS, and AHCA.
• Anticipate and proactively manage risks to prevent crises.
