About The Position

Holy Cross Hospital, a member of Trinity Health, is seeking an experienced and collaborative RN Manager – Emergency Department (Evenings) to join our nursing leadership team. This role is part of the Emergency Department leadership structure, responsible for 24/7 departmental oversight. The Evening RN Manager leads operations, clinical quality, and staff engagement during peak hours in a fast-paced, high-acuity ED environment. The RN Manager functions as a Nurse Leader accountable for leading people, processes, and programs that support direct patient care while driving clinical, operational, and financial outcomes.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current RN license in Maryland
• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) required
• 3–5 years Emergency Department clinical experience
• Prior leadership experience (Charge RN, Supervisor, or Manager)

Nice To Haves

• MSN, MHA, or related advanced degree
• Emergency Nursing Certification (CEN)
• Experience leading teams in high-volume ED or trauma center

Responsibilities

• Lead evening shift Emergency Department operations, ensuring safe, efficient patient flow and throughput
• Collaborate with physician leadership and fellow managers to ensure consistent 24/7 department performance
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation aligned to volume and acuity
• Hire, coach, and develop nursing staff and frontline leaders
• Foster a high-performing, engaged team environment focused on collaboration and accountability
• Support professional development, succession planning, and staff retention
• Lead change initiatives and promote innovation in care delivery

• Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
