About The Position

This position involves assessing, planning, coordinating, and rendering skilled nursing care to patients of all ages, ranging from non-urgent to life-threatening conditions. The role requires providing care for medical illnesses, trauma, pediatrics, gerontology, injury prevention, women's health, mental health issues, and life-saving measures. The nurse will uphold the organization's vision, mission, and corporate values, demonstrating understanding and compliance with policies, procedures, code of conduct, and work rules.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of typical office technologies such as computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, and typical office software
  • Knowledge of general patient care with an emphasis in emergency medicine
  • Knowledge of documentation requirements for specific fields/records
  • Patient/customer service skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to manage time and organize work to ensure efficient performance
  • Ability to follow policy, procedure and instructions

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing
  • 3-5 years of experience working as a Registered Nurse
  • Alaska RN License
  • BLS

Responsibilities

  • Utilize nursing processes to care for health care consumers of all ages
  • Carry out patient assessments, diagnoses, planning, and implementation of interventions, evaluating the patients’ responses to the interventions including emotional, social and safety needs
  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
  • Perform various patient tests and administer medications as prescribed by the physician
  • Triage, prioritize, and assist in the stabilization, resuscitation, crisis intervention and/or emergency preparedness of the consumer
  • Perform other duties as assigned
