About The Position

This is a full-time RN Manager position primarily overseeing the Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Program. The role involves leading and coordinating outpatient ECT nursing operations to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include assessing patients, planning and implementing treatment, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, conducting patient assessments, providing education, triaging services, and responding to changes in patient conditions. The RN Manager will also supervise, mentor, and develop nursing staff, drive compliance with standards and policies, support risk management and patient safety, foster a collaborative environment, resolve challenges, and leverage technology. The position is within a new state-of-the-art behavioral health hospital formed by a joint venture between Acadia Healthcare and Henry Ford Health System, located in West Bloomfield, MI.

Requirements

  • ECT or procedural nursing experience
  • Behavioral health experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Current registered nursing license in State of facility required
  • Two years of registered nursing experience required
  • One year of charge RN or other administrative experience required.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or higher strongly preferred
  • Three years as a registered nurse strongly preferred
  • Two years of registered nursing experience with patient population of the facility is preferred.
  • One year of prior experience with the population required
  • Prior experience as a house supervisor strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate outpatient ECT nursing operations, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Conduct patient assessments, provide education and triage services, and respond effectively to changing clinical conditions.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing staff through training, orientation, coaching, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Drive compliance with nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Support risk management and patient safety efforts.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, resolve clinical and operational challenges.
  • Leverage technology to enhance care coordination, operational efficiency, and quality outcomes.
  • Assist the DON/CNO with directing, planning, coordinating, monitoring and supervising the effective and efficient use of the operations of nursing for assigned units.
  • Oversee the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services in a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments and administration to ensure that all residents’ physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental and cultural needs are met and when they are not met, acknowledges and works to resolve customer complaints.
  • Provide leadership to assure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as nursing practice standards.
  • Anticipate and effectively manage changes in census and acuity and allocates nursing resources based on measurement of patient acuity/care needed.
  • Accountable for the standard of care at the facility, providing consultations and expertise in the delivery of care to patient.
  • Serve as a clinical and service resource to nursing staff and other staff as assigned.
  • Manage the activities of staff, coordinating safe and appropriate care between departments and disciplines.
  • Manage and evaluate work activities of nursing, technical, clerical, service or maintenance staff for the unit, work group and other facility staff as directed.
  • Analyze information/situation to choose the best solution(s) to solve problems.
  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring and training of new staff.
  • Identify the educational needs of others and develop educational or training programs.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures for the facility.
  • Prepare reports to inform management of the status and implementation of programs, services and quality initiatives of the unit.
  • Perform administrative or managerial functions such as planning budgets and authorizing expenditures.
  • Provide direct care as needed.
  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
