About The Position

Lumberton Treatment Center provides individualized counseling, education, and medication-assisted recovery to opioid-dependent adults in a safe, medically sound, and therapeutic environment. The center is hiring a full-time RN or LPN to provide competent, safe, quality, and professional nursing care to its patient population. The position works Monday through Friday from 5:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with Saturdays as needed.

Requirements

Current, unrestricted North Carolina RN or LPN license.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to maintain professional ethics and confidentiality in accordance with federal law protecting substance abuse patients.
Ability to provide compassionate patient care in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide quality nursing care to the patient population.
Gather pertinent patient information and report it to the Medical Director.
Administer methadone and buprenorphine in accordance with the Medical Director’s orders.
Assist the Medical Director in performing physicals.
Collect and document medical history for new patients and annually for existing patients.
Administer TB testing and breathalyzers, and observe and collect urine drug screens.
Take accurate blood pressure and pulse rate measurements.
Participate in staff and treatment team meetings and provide feedback to staff and the Medical Director.
Provide information to the Clinical Director regarding dosage history and attendance.
Use knowledge of chemical dependency, detoxification, and withdrawal symptoms during educational sessions.
Maintain current, accurate medical documentation.
