The RN provides professional nursing care using the ANA scope of practice and nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge, incorporating patient- and family-centered care principles. Under the direction of the Nurse Leader, the RN delivers quality care according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes how nursing care and patient/family partnerships affect outcomes. The RN partners with patients and families, incorporates their input and goals into the plan of care, develops teaching strategies, and documents education and learning in the health record. The role is on a 64-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit serving patients with orthopedic, neurological, post-amputation, and other complex medical or surgical conditions that affect function. Patients receive 15 hours of therapy across the seven-day week, and nursing reinforces therapy interventions to support safe mobility and progress toward returning home.
