About The Position

The Interventional Radiology Department is located at both the Broadway Hospital and SMCF and is a medical sub-specialty of radiology utilizing minimally-invasive image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat diseases in nearly every organ system. Interventional radiology diagnoses and treats patients using the least invasive techniques currently available to minimize risk to the patient and improve health outcomes. Patient populations include: angiograms (venous, arterial, renal, cerebral), embolization, gastric tube care, Permcath care, fistulgrams, para/thoracentesis, TIPS, IVC filters, aortograms, vertebroplasty, venograms, ELVS/phlebectomy procedure, nephrostogram, esophogram, abscessogram, biopsies and injections. Primary hours fall between Monday-Friday 0630-1700. Call rotation to include 3-4 weeknights/month and one weekend every other month. Staff Mix: RNs, Radiologic Technologists, Procedural Schedulers (LPNs), Nursing Assistants, APPs and Interventional Radiologists. Sign on bonus available for eligible candidates!

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
  • Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients.
  • Collaborating with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care.
  • Demonstrating competency and practicing within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizing appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting.
  • Caring for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up as patients move along the continuum of care.
  • Planning and coordination of care, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various other nursing interventions.
  • Functioning within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure.
  • Adhering to the Sanford Professional Nursing Practice, recognizing the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct.
