About The Position
Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining hospital-wide programs related to safety, infection prevention and control, and emergency preparedness. Ensures compliance with CMS Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Conditions of Participation, state regulations, and applicable accreditation standards. In a CAH setting, this role functions in a highly collaborative, hands-on capacity and serves as a key resource for staff, leadership, and medical providers.
Requirements
- Nebraska or compact RN license.
- Two years of experience in healthcare safety, infection prevention, quality, or risk management.
- Experience in a critical access hospital or rural healthcare environment.
Nice To Haves
- Health and safety-related certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare for and support regulatory surveys, inspections, and audits.
- Track, trend, and report data related to safety, infection prevention, and emergency preparedness.
- Provide new-hire and ongoing staff education for all program areas.
- Investigate safety events, near misses, staff injuries, and hazardous conditions; complete root cause analyses and corrective action plans.
