RN In-Service Educator
About The Position
Surge Rehabilitation and Nursing in Middle Island is seeking an experienced RN Inservice Coordinator. This role involves coordinating, developing, implementing, and evaluating educational activities within the Nursing Department. The educator will participate in both formal and informal educational sessions across all shifts, assist with the orientation of new employees, and work with nursing staff to enhance documentation accuracy. Additionally, the role includes planning and implementing educational programs for all shifts and weekend staff, monitoring staff development activities, maintaining ongoing files, and participating in chart audits to ensure regulatory compliance and facility needs are met.
Requirements
- A graduate of an accredited professional nursing program with a current license to practice in New York State.
- Minimum of one year of experience in geriatric/long term care facility.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates the planning, development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of educational activities within the Nursing Department.
- Participates in formal and informal educational activities within the department on all shifts.
- Participates in orientation program of newly hired departmental employees.
- Works with all levels of nursing staff to improve the integrity and accuracy of documentation.
- Participates in the planning and implementing educational programs for the all shifts and weekend staff.
- Monitors staff development activities for conferences and seminars outside of the building.
- Maintains ongoing files.
- Participates in chart audits – monitor ongoing documentation (including electronic) related to regulatory agencies and facility needs.
