About The Position

This position is responsible for and accountable for managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment. The role involves promoting positive relationships and teamwork among employees and between departments. The individual will participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. They are responsible and accountable for their own clinical practice as well as the quality and quantity of nursing care given by nursing personnel. This role also participates in the Pre-Anesthesia evaluation and education of patients prior to surgery or procedures requiring anesthesia.

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of nursing
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally
• Ability to communicate effectively in an emergency situation

Responsibilities

• Managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment
• Promoting positive relationships and teamwork among employees and between departments
• Participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
• Ensuring the quality and quantity of nursing care given by nursing personnel
• Participating in the Pre-Anesthesia evaluation and education of patients prior to surgery or procedures requiring anesthesia
• Rendering direct and indirect patient care in support of medical care and in accordance with established standards of care, as well as policies and procedures
• Contributing to nursing assessment
• Welcoming new employees, participating in orientation, and serving as a role model to orient and develop nursing staff members
