About The Position

Texas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) II Charge for Med/Surg Station 32 on the Night Shift. This role is Full Time, working 36 hours per week on a night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM, three shifts per week. The department is described as a team-based environment with a strong workplace culture, operating on lean principles and emphasizing team atmosphere and individual performance. Management is highly engaged. The nursing theory guiding practice is the Quality Caring Model developed by Dr. Joanne Duffy, which includes eight caring factors that all nurses must demonstrate, with charge nurses modeling this behavior consistently. These factors are: Basic Human Needs, Human Respect, Affiliation Needs, Appreciation of Unique Meanings, Mutual Problem Solving, Attentive Reassurance, Encouraging Manner, and Healing Environment. Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital is a 369-bed acute-care hospital serving North Texas since 1958, specializing in comprehensive medical/surgical care, cancer care, women’s services, behavioral health, neurosciences, and emergency medicine. It holds accreditations and recognitions including Level III NICU, Level III Maternal Newborn care, Level III Trauma Center, American College of Surgeons Comprehensive Community Cancer Center, National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center, Chest Pain Center, Heart Failure Center, American Heart Association Gold Plus award, Magnet designation, and Blue Distinction Center for Hip and Knee Replacement and Spine Surgery.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma (Nursing) required
  • Associate's Degree Nursing required
  • 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting required
  • RN - Registered Nurse upon hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly upon hire required
  • ACLS- Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 days required
  • CPI- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 days required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred
  • 2 years experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
