About The Position

The Registered Nurse assesses human responses and plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for individuals or families for whom the nurse is responsible. The Registered Nurse is fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and is accountable to patients for the quality of care delivered. The ICU Unit has 20 beds and is a busy medical/surgical unit. It handles CRRT and AHN TeleICU. Common diagnoses include pulmonary, GI, surgical, GU, post-partum, pregnancy > 20 weeks gestation, psychiatric, and renal. The ICU has received the silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. Requirements

• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• CPR certification

Nice To Haves

• Certification in area of specialty

• Analyzes the health status of the individuals and families comparing the data with the norm, when possible, to determine patient care needs.
• Assesses patient reports/records change of condition and notifies physician and/or supervisor and intervenes appropriately and documents accordingly.
• Accepts assignments in areas other than primary unit, and performs duties within individualized competency.

• Promotes advancement of the profession through participation in professional organizations.
