About The Position

Sage Group HealthCare Staffing is seeking an RN ICU (Intensive Care Unit) for a travel / contract position in Michigan. Accepting both local and traveler candidates. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit, performing thorough patient assessments, developing individualized nursing care plans, continuously monitoring patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall clinical status. The nurse will interpret EKGs, respond promptly to changes in patient condition, care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation and other advanced life support therapies, and assist in the management of patients receiving CRRT and intra-aortic balloon pump therapy when applicable. Responsibilities also include administering medications, blood products, and IV therapies, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, accurately documenting patient information, educating patients and families, and adhering to hospital policies and professional nursing standards. The position requires floating to comparable critical care units when needed.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN): Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience (Floating experience does not qualify)
  • EKG interpretation experience
  • Must be willing to float to similar units as needed
  • Completed ICU Skills Checklist (within the past year)
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) or equivalent
  • Active Michigan RN License at the time of submission
  • ACLS Certification
  • BLS Certification
  • Michigan License Verification (LARA & Nursys) required at submission

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Neuro ICU, CVICU, or Trauma ICU
  • Experience managing mechanically ventilated patients
  • Experience with CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.

  • Float to comparable critical care units when required based on patient care needs.
