About The Position
Olympic Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for their ICU/Telemetry unit. This position is 90% FTE and works night shifts. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for Intensive Care Unit/Telemetry patients. The nurse will promote continuity of care, provide direct patient care, and supervise licensed practical nurses, certified nurse assistants, patient care aides, and other support staff. Responsibilities include interpreting patient needs based on age-specific requirements, participating in patient and family teaching, and maintaining standards for professional nursing practice. The nurse will also uphold the mission and philosophy of OMC and the Nursing Department, supporting a positive image of professional nursing and OMC. The position involves patient contact under various circumstances and may occasionally require irregular hours.
Requirements
- Washington State RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Nice To Haves
- Two years in a hospital setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the nursing care of Intensive Care Unit/Telemetry patients.
- Promotes continuity of care for patients on the unit.
- Provides direct patient care.
- Supervises the care given by Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Aides and other support staff.
- Interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements concerning his or her age-specific needs.
- Participates in patient and family teaching.
- Maintains standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
- Demonstrates the values contained in the OMC and Nursing Department mission and philosophy statements.
- Supports and promotes a positive image of professional nursing and OMC.

- Shift Differentials: Evening - $3.00/hour, Night - $5.00/hour, Weekend - $4.50/hour
- Premiums: Standby - $4.00/hour, Charge - $3.25/hour, Float - $2.50/hour
- Per Diem - 15% (on rate of pay, in lieu of benefits)
- Certification - $2.00/hour
- Preceptor - $2.00/hour
- San Exam - $500.00
