About The Position

Olympic Medical Center is located on Washington State’s beautiful North Olympic Peninsula, offering abundant recreational opportunities and a desirable Pacific Northwest lifestyle. The position is 90% FTE and works the night shift. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care of Intensive Care Unit/Telemetry patients. The RN promotes continuity of care, provides direct patient care, and supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Aides, and other support staff. Responsibilities include interpreting patient needs based on age-specific requirements, participating in patient and family teaching, and maintaining professional nursing practice standards. The role also involves supporting the OMC and Nursing Department mission and philosophy, promoting a positive image of professional nursing and OMC, and occasionally being subjected to irregular hours.

Requirements

Washington State RN license
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Nice To Haves

Two years in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the nursing care of Intensive Care Unit/Telemetry patients.
Promotes continuity of care for patients on the unit.
Provides direct patient care.
Supervises the care given by Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Aides and other support staff.
Interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements concerning his or her age-specific needs.
Participates in patient and family teaching.
Maintains standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
Demonstrates the values contained in the OMC and Nursing Department mission and philosophy statements.
Supports and promotes a positive image of professional nursing and OMC.
