About The Position

Join Missouri Baptist Medical Center as an RN House Supervisor and play a vital role in hospital-wide operations, staffing, patient flow, and clinical leadership. In this highly visible leadership position, you'll serve as the go-to resource for nursing teams, physicians, patients, and families while helping ensure safe, efficient, and exceptional care throughout the hospital. The House Supervisor is delegated the authority and responsibility for administrative supervision of patient care and other hospital departments, serving as a representative of Administration in the absence of the Administrator during off shifts. Acts as a liaison with departments and/or consults with Administrator on call to handle unusual circumstances, appropriate resources, and investigate and resolve clinical problems/complaints.

Requirements

  • BSN
  • Current RN licensure
  • Minimum 5 years of acute care RN experience
  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Nursing Diploma/Associate's - Nursing
  • 2-5 years Supervisor Experience
  • < 2 years

Nice To Haves

  • Prior charge nurse or leadership experience preferred
  • Diverse inpatient background across multiple specialties
  • Experience with staffing coordination, patient throughput, bed management, or float pool operations
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Bachelor's Degree - Nursing
  • 5-10 years Experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee staffing, patient placement, admissions, transfers, throughput, and bed management
  • Serve as the leadership resource during patient escalations, rapid responses, codes, falls, and safety events
  • Partner with nursing leaders, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to support daily operations
  • Address patient and family concerns and provide service recovery support
  • Coach, mentor, and support staff through real-time challenges
  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Supervises the delivery of safe and appropriate patient care across the organization. Effectively responds to special circumstances and acts as the on site leader.
  • Assists with patient care operations and integration of services between departments.
  • Assists in the clinical development of nursing staff, including observing and coaching staff in performance of clinical duties and interpersonal interactions and monitoring staff and unit compliance in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Functions as a liaison between Administration and all departments and customers.
  • Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
