Requirements

  • Current state Registered Nurse licensure required
  • Current BLS required (Obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire)
  • Current ACLS required (Obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire)
  • BSN required or enrolled into a BSN program within 6 months of hire and completed within 3 years

Nice To Haves

  • Five to eight years oncology nursing experience preferred
  • Minimum of one year of RN charge management experience in the last three years in acute health care setting preferred
  • Completion of ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy class certification preferred
  • Experience with oncology, intensive or emergency care and medical /surgical care desired
  • Strong background in medical/surgical care and/or intensive care procedures

Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for coordinating nursing care for optimum patient outcomes.
  • Plans, directs and evaluates overall nursing care.
  • Coordinates the activities of the nursing units and makes staffing assignments.
  • Monitors and educates the nursing staff.
  • Responds to emergency situations as necessary.
  • Accountable for practicing within the defined scope of practice for the Registered Nurse, Commits to providing safe, quality nursing care.
  • Coaches, motivates, and develops staff; provides ongoing feedback; ensures timely performance reviews and goal setting; supports career development and succession planning; aligns team with organizational mission
  • Identifies patient and staffing needs; prioritizes care delivery; collaborates with interdisciplinary teams; ensures high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Delegates tasks effectively; coordinates team activities; supports scheduling to maintain adequate staffing; anticipates and resolves operational challenges
  • Monitors standards of care; drives performance improvement initiatives; tracks and analyzes nursing metrics; addresses performance and behavioral concerns
  • Serves as a clinical expert; applies the nursing process; maintains competency in patient care practices
  • Responds to emergencies; acts as liaison between departments and administration; supports safety and employee health functions as needed
