About The Position

The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of staff and the coordination of patient care services in the medical-surgical, progressive care, surgical services and emergency department settings on a shift-by-shift basis. Supervises medical-surgical, progressive care, surgical services, and emergency department staff on a shift-by-shift basis.

Requirements

• Associates Nursing Required.
• Bachelors Nursing required with the following exceptions: Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree program within one year of job description signing and must be completed with Bachelors of Science in Nursing within 4 years. If in an academic bridge program from ASN to MSN, completion must occur within 5 years.
• 3 Years Minimum clinical experience required.
• West Virginia Nursing License Required or eligible for licensure.
• ACLS Certificate Required or eligible for certification.
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required
• New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary for interacting with patients, employees and members of the medical staff.
• Must be able to readily adapt to change and exhibit an ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Nice To Haves

• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Prior employment in more than one clinical setting also preferred.
