About The Position
James River Hospice is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead clinical services and oversee day-to-day operations for its hospice team in the Lynchburg, Virginia area. This leadership role focuses on providing compassionate end-of-life care in clients’ homes while supervising staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, implementing policies and procedures, and supporting operational excellence. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with compensation of $117,000–$130,000 and a $10,000 sign-on bonus.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- At least two years of health-related experience, including at least one year of hospice supervisory or administrative experience within the last five years.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and promote a positive, mission-driven work environment.
- Manage daily clinical and administrative operations across hospice services.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and support clinical and administrative team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations and promote continuous professional development.
- Ensure compliance with applicable hospice regulations and accreditation standards.
- Implement quality assurance initiatives to maintain high standards of care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and families to develop comprehensive, compassionate end-of-life care plans.
- Oversee budget planning and resource allocation to support financial sustainability.
- Foster effective communication among staff, patients, families, and external healthcare partners.
- Collaborate with local physicians, facilities, and community organizations to enhance continuity of care.
