The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, patient-centered nursing care to individuals receiving diagnostic and therapeutic services across a variety of healthcare settings. This role focuses on delivering high-quality care while promoting patient safety, comfort, and support throughout the treatment experience. Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and critical thinking skills are essential in this dynamic care environment. Experience in critical care is beneficial, while backgrounds in medical-surgical nursing with strong critical thinking abilities are also highly valued. A caregiver in this position works full-time 8 hour Day Shifts | hours and start times vary between 7am and 7pm | on-call evenings and weekends are required|

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • In areas performing moderate sedation procedures, must have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (within six months of employment)
  • One year of recent experience as an RN OR Licensed RN with at least 2 years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department may substitute for required RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in critical care is beneficial
  • Backgrounds in medical-surgical nursing with strong critical thinking abilities are also highly valued
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • 2 years of recent RN experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings.
  • Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
  • Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
  • Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
  • Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
  • Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
  • Educate patients and families.
  • Cover other nursing roles in the department.
