About The Position

Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health is seeking a caring and motivated RN to join our team at our Hospice House in Tampa. This position offers a set schedule of two 12-hour shifts. Since 1977, Suncoast Hospice has been honored to serve our neighbors across Pinellas and Hillsborough counties with compassionate end-of-life care. As part of Empath Health, we help those living with advanced illness find comfort, dignity, and meaning, while supporting their families and caregivers with guidance and care every step of the way. The RN is responsible for identifying and coordinating patient/family needs and for providing preventive and supportive care to the terminally ill patient/family unit. The RN utilizes assessment, intervention, and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and to enhance the quality of life for the patient/family unit. The RN provides oversight and supervision of the LPN and/or aide for the delivery of patient care in the GIP environment. The RN reports to the Patient/Family Care Coordinator/Care Center Manager. The position requires the flexibility to float to all 3 care centers in Pinellas County if needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year recent bedside nursing experience
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • Minimum of six months to one year related experience and/or training
  • Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse
  • Valid Florida State Driver’s License
  • Minimum of 1 year of current active nursing experience
  • Experience in caring for terminally ill patients or those with life threatening illnesses preferred
  • One (1) year experience in an acute or post acute care setting preferred

Responsibilities
