About The Position
The RN / GN must have the skill and knowledge to provide population specific care. He/She must have the ability to assess, evaluate, identify, and interpret the requirement and needs of the patients and perform based on those findings. The RN / GN reports directly to Director.
Requirements
- RN Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
- Valid, current license by the Missouri State Board of Nursing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) upon hire.
- Successful completion of hospital orientation
Nice To Haves
- ACLS within year
- PALS certification within year
Responsibilities
- Provides guidance to provide appropriate patient care to all ages and oversee LPN’s and CNA’s.
- Documentation of care in the EMR, that is accurate and detailed of the patient’s care and conditions.
- Monitor for changes in medical condition by assessments and notify physician if appropriate.
- Assist with procedures by physician’s as needed.
- Perform nursing skills (IV starting, NG placements, dressing changes, wound care, catheter placement, etc.).
- Knowledge of conscious sedation procedure and protocol.
- Scan and administer medications to patients and monitor for side effects.
- Ensures the satisfactory completion of clinical procedures, documentation, educational and procedural teaching of the patient
- Provides leadership for the unit by organizing and prioritizing care by communicating and collaborating with others and implementing multidisciplinary actions to provide a continuity of care.
- Ensures self-compliance with professional, regulatory and government standards of care.
