About The Position

The RN / GN must have the skill and knowledge to provide population specific care. He/She must have the ability to assess, evaluate, identify, and interpret the requirement and needs of the patients and perform based on those findings.

Requirements

  • RN Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
  • Must have valid, current license by the Missouri State Board of Nursing
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) upon hire.
  • Successful completion of hospital orientation

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS within year
  • PALS certification within year

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance to provide appropriate patient care to all ages and oversee LPN’s and CNA’s.
  • Documentation of care in the EMR, that is accurate and detailed of the patient’s care and conditions.
  • Monitor for changes in medical condition by assessments and notify physician if appropriate.
  • Assist with procedures by physician’s as needed. Perform nursing skills (IV starting, NG placements, dressing changes, wound care, catheter placement, etc.). Knowledge of conscious sedation procedure and protocol.
  • Scan and administer medications to patients and monitor for side effects. Ensures the satisfactory completion of clinical procedures, documentation, educational and procedural teaching of the patient.
  • Provides leadership for the unit by organizing and prioritizing care by communicating and collaborating with others and implementing multidisciplinary actions to provide a continuity of care.
  • Ensures self-compliance with professional, regulatory and government standards of care.
  • Knowledge of conscious sedation procedure and protocol.
  • Ensures the satisfactory completion of clinical procedures, documentation, educational and procedural teaching of the patient.
  • Demonstrates support for organizational and departmental mission.
  • Supports and demonstrates knowledge of the Strategic Plan and the Hospital Key Initiatives.
  • Fosters and promotes teamwork within department and the organization as a whole.
  • Works to resolves conflicts constructively and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and simply with every customer and co-worker.
