About The Position

Allegheny General Hospital's Float Pool consists of highly trained expert RNs who cover all areas of AGH based on their specialty and clinical expertise. This role offers variety in patient types and acuity, preparing nurses for critical care. Float Pool RNs also mentor and precept other nurses. The Float Pool Team 2 Med Surg Tele position is a weekend role, with scheduled hours between 11 am Friday and 7 am Monday, totaling 48 hours every two weeks. Orientation may require full-time work for a concentrated period. Requirements

  • 3 years acute care nursing experience required in Med Surg/Tele
  • Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • CPR – American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year on specific unit preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for a designated patient population for the purpose of providing care based upon enactment of the nursing process.
  • Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning skills.
  • Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
  • Professionally directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team members.
  • Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge.
  • Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn.
