About The Position

The clinical nurse, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The Clinical Nurse provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to policies and procedures. Works 3 12-hour shifts in a 4 week schedule including 1 weekend shift works 1 holiday and 1 hard to fill shift per calendar year

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an associate’s degree or equivalent.
  • BSN, or MSN, or DNP/PhD - if not minimum BSN prepared, new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience is required to enroll in an accredited BSN program within one (1) year of licensure date and complete within five (5) years, required. This is effective April 18, 2023.
  • 2 years of relevant experience: 2 years related acute care nursing experience.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency through competency testing in all nursing areas eligible for floating.
  • Internal candidates with less than 2 years of clinical experience must be approved by their current nurse leader and the site Chief Nursing Officer. The candidates are to remain a unit-based PRN (casual) employee until they reach 2 years of nursing experience.
  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required
  • Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
  • Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - CANADIAN HEART AND STROKE FOUNDATION Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Endoscopy (exception for Dearborn, Farmington Hills, Taylor). Upon Hire required
  • Or CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Radiology, Pre-Op, PACU, Emergency Care, Critical Care 180 Days required
  • CRT-Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - ENA Emergency Nurses Association Emergency Care 1 Year required
  • And CRT-Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) - ENA Emergency Nurses Association Emergency Care 1 Year required
