RN - Float Pool - Per Diem Nights
About The Position
Join Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach, Florida, and provide patient care as a member of the Nursing Float Pool. Caregivers in the Float Pool work with diverse patient populations across numerous units, departments, and/or locations, collaborating with other caregivers while developing their nursing and critical-thinking skills. The RN delivers care throughout the patient journey, interacts directly with patients and families, and provides healthcare education as needed. This is a per-diem role with varying night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Caregivers must follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required. Employment offers are followed by controlled-substance testing. Caregivers must comply with the influenza prevention program, including annual vaccination or an approved exemption.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification.
- One year of current acute-care RN experience in a hospital setting, or licensed military RN experience.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
