About The Position

Provides and coordinates direct care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, floating to all acute care floors at Hamilton Medical Center, including the ICU and Emergency Department for admitted holds, and the Progressive Care Unit. Uses the nursing process to manage care for assigned patients with illnesses or diseases whose needs fall between those typically managed on general medical floors. Demonstrates professional growth and development and a commitment to service, Hamilton’s mission, values, and professionalism.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Georgia RN license or a multi-state license meeting eNLC criteria; professional licensure must be obtained before beginning work as an RN.
• BLS certification required.
• Nursing skills as defined by Georgia’s Law Governing the Practice of Nursing.
• Proficiency in special skills demonstrated through completion of the unit care skills check-off.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including handling and lifting patients, standing and walking for extended periods, and occasionally lifting or carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.

Nice To Haves

• BSN or MSN.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• MOAB certification.
• One or more years of experience.
