About The Position

Olmsted Medical Center is seeking a dedicated RN First Assistant for an Operating Room position. This role is 0.8 FTE and operates on a Day Shift. The starting pay ranges from $40.60 to $60.89 per hour, with offers for external candidates typically falling between the minimum and three-quarters of the range, based on experience. Olmsted Medical Center is committed to providing a comprehensive and competitive benefits package for employees who are employed at 0.5 FTE or higher.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program and accredited RNFA program
• Knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and perioperative policies and procedural guidelines
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

• Operating room experience or training within the last three years preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides visualization of the operative site.
• Utilizes appropriate techniques to assist with hemostasis.
• Utilizes appropriate techniques in closure of body planes.
• Selects and applies appropriate wound dressings.
• Provides assistance in securing drainage system to tissue.
• Participates in volume replacement or auto transfusion techniques as appropriate.
• Assists with positioning the patient.
• Prepares the skin for procedure.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
• Maintains confidentiality.
• Maintains ongoing self-development.
• Other duties as assigned.
