About The Position
This is a 0.8 FTE Day Shift position for an RN First Assistant in the Operating Room. The starting pay ranges from $40.60 to $60.89 per hour, based on experience. Offers for external candidates are typically made between the minimum and 3/4 point of the range. Olmsted Medical Center values its employees and offers a comprehensive benefits package for those employed at 0.5 FTE or higher.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program and accredited RNFA program
- Knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and perioperative policies and procedural guidelines
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
Nice To Haves
- Operating room experience or training within the last three years preferred
Responsibilities
- Provides visualization of the operative site.
- Utilizes appropriate techniques to assist with hemostasis.
- Utilizes appropriate techniques in closure of body planes.
- Selects and applies appropriate wound dressings.
- Provides assistance in securing drainage system to tissue.
- Participates in volume replacement or auto transfusion techniques as appropriate.
- Assists with positioning the patient.
- Prepares the skin for procedure.
- Anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Maintains ongoing self-development.
- Other duties as assigned.
