About The Position
Responsible during the intra-operative phase by directly assisting the surgeon in controlling bleeding, providing wound exposure, suturing and other surgical tasks utilizing nursing and medical functions. Provides preoperative and postoperative patient assessment.
Requirements
- RNFA Certificate indicating successful completion of an accredited RNFA course and completion of the established hours and/or cases required by the curriculum.
- Three years’ experience scrubbing and circulating as an RN in the operating room.
- Current California RN license, CNOR, BCLS, ACLS, PALS.
Responsibilities
- Applies knowledge of infection control and aseptic technique.
- Assists with positioning, prepping and draping of the patient for the operative procedure.
- Provides intra-operative retracting and surgical exposure.
- Utilizes instrumentation to perform appropriate functions.
