About The Position

The RN Field Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in overseeing nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in various field settings. This position is responsible for coordinating clinical operations, managing nursing teams, and serving as a liaison between field staff and administrative leadership. The RN Field Supervisor ensures compliance with healthcare regulations, promotes best practices, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes. This role requires strong clinical expertise combined with exceptional organizational and communication skills to effectively manage resources and respond to dynamic field conditions. Ultimately, the RN Field Supervisor drives operational excellence and fosters a supportive environment for nursing professionals working outside traditional healthcare facilities.

Requirements

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state or jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably with exposure to community or field nursing.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of nursing best practices, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations.
• Ability to travel regularly to various field locations as required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or higher.
• Experience in home health, hospice, or community health nursing.
• Certification in nursing leadership or management (e.g., Nurse Executive Certification).
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and data reporting tools.
• Advanced training in quality improvement methodologies or patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support nursing staff working in field locations to ensure adherence to clinical protocols and standards of care.
• Coordinate daily field operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and patient care logistics.
• Conduct regular field visits to assess care quality, provide guidance, and address any clinical or operational issues.
• Serve as a primary point of contact between field nursing teams and healthcare administration to facilitate communication and problem-solving.
• Implement and monitor compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies.
• Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to nursing staff to promote professional development and high-quality care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care plans and address complex clinical situations.
• Prepare reports on field operations, patient outcomes, and staff performance for senior management review.
