About The Position

The Emergency Room consists of 15 beds, including a 6-bed fast track area that operates from 9 AM to 10 PM. This unit typically handles a high volume of patient visits, averaging around 100 per day, with a significant pediatric patient demographic of 500-600 visits per month. The patient-to-nurse ratio is generally 1:4, depending on patient acuity. The unit provides care for a variety of diagnoses, including Stroke, Abdominal pain, Orthopedic injuries, Psychiatric emergencies, and General emergency medicine cases. A charge nurse is present and will take on a small patient load if needed. Nurse aides and a unit secretary are available on a 24/7 basis, along with technical support for 20 hours a day. The unit utilizes Cerner (First Net) for electronic medical records (EMR) and has access to Phillips central monitoring systems for telemetry. Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy services are available 24/7. New employees will undergo floor-specific orientation lasting 2-3 days on the unit.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in the specialty required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
  • COVID Vaccine Required

Nice To Haves

  • Trauma Level III experience or higher preferred
